Introducing the

Alexander Samuel Legacy Scholarship

★ ★ ★

Honoring the legacy of Alexander Julius Smith and Samuel Alfred Davis — two men who dedicated their lives to building up young men and families of color through service, mentorship, and leadership.

Who we honor

Two grandfathers.
One standard.

This scholarship carries the names of two men who spent their lives strengthening their communities, uplifting families, mentoring young people, and investing in the generation coming up behind them.

Alexander Julius Smith

[3–5 sentences about your grandfather — where he was from, what he did for a living, how he showed up for young men in the community, and the one story your family always tells about him. Specific details land harder than praise.]

Samuel Alfred Davis

[Same shape for your other grandfather. The name of the program he ran, the number of years he did it, the thing he always said — those are what people remember.]

Their legacy lives on.
Your future continues it.

Why I started this

Bryan Anthony Smith · Founder

Alexander Julius Smith and Samuel Alfred Davis were my grandfathers. Long before I understood what they were doing, they were doing it — opening doors, showing up, and holding the young men around them to a standard they were expected to grow into.

[One short paragraph of your own memory here. A specific moment with one of them. Something they said to you, or something you watched them do for someone else. This is the part people will remember.]

I created this scholarship to honor them and to keep doing what they did — invest in the education of the next generation. I work professionally in program development and evaluation, so I care as much about running this well as I do about the name on it. Every dollar given goes to a young man who is building something worth passing on.
